The Code Style site has evolved by gradual refinement and accumulation of features and content. This review is part of a fully backdated site log and archive that sheds light on when, why and how particular features were implemented.
This log is sometimes updated several times per week, sometimes with a long overdue backlog of items. Many log entries refer to the Code Style Java package that delivers the servlet services and utilities used to manage this site.

Reverse chronology
Archive font survey results, 26th May 2007
Created a set of archive tables for old font survey submissions and a script to move records from the standard submissions table by date. Also updated the mailing list output scripts to create a union between the three tables where subscription data is now held. (All notification request data should ultimately be moved to the notify table). Archived all font submissions between 7 May 2001 and 1 January 2003, so that results give greater weighting to more recent submissions.

Updated the generic font family tables with fonts included in recent survey submissions. Adjusted the FontSurveyTemplate Java class to remove all surplus spaces in the Sampler.css output to minimise the file size and uploaded.
Created a working draft index of pending FAQ help requests and bad FAQ help request examples.

Text ad composition class, 20th May 2007
Created a new TextAds class to contain all related content and methods. Modified AbstractSample to include the new TextAds class and call it for ad placement. Created a new "What is a cycled text ad?" include file for advertising test page inclusion.
Temporarily excluded the font survey applet test cases from the from Ant build.xml configuration because it fails on the production host where there is no XWindows peer support.
Increased the backup file threshold file size for font survey applet submissions to prevent multiple files clobbering each other with the same dated file name. Applet based submissions are much larger because they list all installed fonts.

Mac font survey applet published, 12th May 2007
Switched the Windows font survey and Mac font survey to included applet object markup that is common to both and published the Mac font survey applet.
Added Metacentric company registration details to copyright and terms page.

More Windows font survey applet results, 5th May 2007
Made another interim update to the Windows font survey results with another batch of font survey applet submissions. Updated the font sampler Sampler.css style sheet with first appearances for several fonts in the results listing. Added screen shots of many new fonts too. Re-generated listings for generic font family tables with latest fonts.
Added many more commonly reported Windows fonts to the font survey configuration files.
Compacted layout of text ads with a solid 1 pixel border, reduced margin-top, line-height and padding-top.
