The most common Linux fonts
The most common font reported on Linux systems is the cursive font URW Chancery L at 96% frequency. Second position is held by the sans serif URW Gothic L, then serif font Century Schoolbook L and monospace font Nimbus Mono L. The serif font URW Bookman L completes the 5 most common Linux fonts at 93% frequency.
Font survey statistics
These figures are the cumulative total of about 3 Linux survey submissions per fortnight since July 2005, 362 total. The Linux font survey applet was introduced on 21 February 2009 and is currently recording the frequency of 102 of the most common Linux fonts.
