This page is an archive of hundreds of answers to frequently asked questions published since 2001. FAQs are normally published in batches as time allows and the number of answers accumulates, so they are grouped by date.
Over the years the organisation of FAQs has changed. These archive pages use the current group classification of FAQs retrospectively. Publication dates for items before 2006 are based on site log entries which do not cover all FAQs published.

FAQs published in 2006
FAQ updates for 2006 include a backlog of questions about the Code Style font survey and many more answers to Java and servlet questions. A new FAQ editor system was introduced in September that helped create a clearer division of questions into new topic areas and clear a large backlog of answers.

By 2005, the number of FAQ categories and answers grew substantially, particulary for Java and servlet related questions. In November 2005 the premium content service was introduced to provide more extensive answers for subscribers.

During 2004 new FAQ topics were added on Apache Tomcat and servlet containers in general, and many more answers were added across the board to existing categories for CSS, the Code Style drop-down menu system, font survey, Java and servlets, Javascript, HTML and site management.

Very few FAQs were published in 2003, though a new HTML and XHTML FAQ category was created, with minor additions to existing categories on Web fonts and the drop-down menu system.

FAQs published in 2002
At the end of 2001 Code Style published the very popular DOM1 visibility drop down menu system article and started answering common questions about it from 2002. There were also new FAQ sections for questions on Java and servlets, media dependent style sheets, Web site management and further additions to the FAQs on CSS and the Document Object Model.

In 2001 Code Style introduced the popular font sampler and survey section and published a set of FAQs to answer common questions about the survey and Web fonts in general. There were also answers to more general questions about Cascading Style Sheets, Javascript and the Code Style site itself.
